It was excellent, J.K Rowling has outdone herself truly... but I'm still grieving Anybody who desperately wants to find out something that happens can PM me, but talk on the subject of death and it will be upsetting

i finished it last night, too. i went away for three days and left it at home, and someone told me who dies! i was soo annoyed and i admit, it spoiled the book greatly. you can imagine how much i am loathing that person right now. and also everywhere i went, i could see people on the trains reading it it was like they were poking fun at me! A BIT OF A SPOILER... CLOSE YOUR EYES.. LOL i felt that the theme of this book is very different from any of the previous four. there seemed to be a lot more grumpyness in this one, and at some points i felt kind of resentful towards JK because of what was happening to the characters, what was happening BETWEEN the characters.. i hope someone knows what i mean.

sorry about this double-posting but i just realised i have something to add, and i can't edit my post what i wanted to add, was that the book is indeed excellent. i think it's because it's been so long since the last book, but my opinions of the books have been changing. i re-read #3 and #4 before the new one came out, and i found that they'd switched places: i prefer four now, whereas i used to think three was better. it's strange and kind of sad how opinions change. but #5 is definitely in league with #4, in the way that it is written. a significantly developing style. i really liked it and i want to re-read it because of all the info to absorb. i like how harry's fears were explained pretty quickly - in the other books, harry usually goes for ages wondering why he's such a freak and he won't talk to hermione and ron about it.. but in this one, especially in the case of ANOTHER SPOILER, CLOSE YOUR EYES AGAIN!! the thestrals. i liked that that was explained to harry, and he wasn't left lingering.

I really prefer JK's writing style in boof 5. I though it had developed a lot. I like how the characters seem more believable. In the others they were too perfect. Harry was wriiten a lot better in #5.
I'm kinda in denial about the whole thing where the person is No-More. This is bad. I can't even bring myself to say the four letter word beginning and ending in D.
Humor me, please, the character who went away was my second favorite, besides Snape.

[My whole post is a spoiler I personally think that when in the thread title it says " I have finished..." then we should be able to talk freely.]
yeah someone spoiled it for me and said who died but I didnt think it would happen, and when it did I wasnt prepared...I actually cried, not that hard, but still a little when I read bout who died...
I prefer #4 to this one, only because I hated that Umbridge women so much and how could she be like that.but I knew of course that j.K. would give her what she deserved in the end...I actually got mad at the book in one point and refused to read it...
I was really confused through this book only because I think J.K. rushed some things out in the open and others didnt come till the end...the prophecy though shocked me when DD mentioned Neville in it.
the thing I felt most bad about was that for Harry, I mean he had lost his only remaining family, yes I know he still has the Weaslys, and Lupin and even DD, but Harry had gotten close to Sirius, he had alwayz sticked up for Harry and tried to protect him...if anybody can understand about the veil thing I would like to know, I know that J.K. put something in there that we know Harry will be able to see or at least talk with Sirius in the future, I hope he will. my hopes were crashed after hearing about the package Sirius had given Harry at X-Mas...It might have been prevented (Sirius's death) if Harry had remembered the package...I didnt remember either though till the end when J.K. mentioned it...
It is weird how much you can either love or hate a character, I couldnt believe that from the same mind came all Sirius, Lupin , DD,...and then that horrible Umbridge women. In this book J.K. really has opened her horizon on her writing technique, this book was dark- I think halfly though because if anybody else had noticed Harry was not only going through fighting off Voldermorts emotions but also puberty, the whole thing with mostly Cho, but also Hermione. our beloved and non-beloved characters are growing up, I think that is where J.K. had the most trouble, she had to make them see through trivial stuff and right straight down to what really mattered.

[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] Well I finished book 5. I hate that she killed him. I toatally hated that part. . Though I didn't think that was the worst chapter. I thought Snapes worst memory was worse.James, and Siris was evil then. Harry had a bad temper through the book The way he treated Dumbledore was awful

I just finally got around to reading it-it was so good! But since I'm horrible at reading books (I say I'll read and then don't...) it took me like 3 weeks and the last few days have been spent mostly reading. I'm going to start the 6th today and I can't wait to see the movie!
