I'll tell you exactly why he called me that. He knows I hate it. What a stupid name, Tom. A stupid filthy ordinary muggle name if ever I heard one...
OOC: I think it was knock him down a few pegs, and also to try and appeal to whatever part of Tom Riddle that's left in Voldemort. And also to remind him that he is human.

OOC: When I saw it, I was like 'Yes! Score one for Dumbledore!' I thought it was extremely clever myself...But that was a really really great duel anyway...it was a bit like seeing Yoda fighting the main bad guy in Attack of the Clones. (forgot his name, I don't know much Star Wars) Or like Gandalf fighting the Balrog.

I agree with Tom, he was only calling him that to let Voldermort know he IS still human, as much as DD, he isnt a very good one though ....I loved the duel, in this book I thought we seen DD's darker side, and a lot more of his power.

well I do think it was to remind him I KNOW YOU who you are... my theory bein that DD is really a power control freak.... OOC: Oh you are absolutely right...I'm convinced he is a power control freak. I read a post a few days ago at HPfGU's accusing him of manipulations that are almost, if not worse than Voldemort's... I should find that post and stick it up here... (for those of you at HPfGU's, it was the post titled something like 'Dumbledore is GUILTY.')

well DD has got this THING cuz everyone admires him... he prob is a bit too full of himself.. and figures HE is the only one that can do anything worthwhile.. and yeah.. he comes to save the day... but he helped create the day to save most the time anyway... so its like his way of retro damage control? hmmmm.... :::frowns at DD:::
PLUS.. he is such a GGGGGGGGGRRRR git.. yes.. he is... he lies to my sweetie... straight face LIES to him.. Snape knows Harry is up to things.. DD hides for him.. everyone hides from Snape.. he knows somethin is goin on.. yet everyone is telling him no no no.. its cuz you hated James.. you are so stupid.. dont take James out on Harry... THEN after Harry has done something... Snape KNEW it.. DD is like in POA.. are you suggesting that Harry and Hermione can be in two places at once? KNOWING damned straight the time turner DID make them in 2 places at once... grrrrrrrrr ::::Kicks DD:::::

OOC:
Actually, that bit of PoA you mentioned is very interesting... and actually, I think it was really a form of secret communication between DD and Snape, not DD being a git. Notice how after that point, Snape stops ranting like a lunatic. Snape, understanding subtlety as he does : grin : doesn't hear, 'Are you suggesting that Harry etc went back in time?', he hears, 'Harry etc went back in time and freed Black, and there is a very good reason for it which I will explain to you after Fudge has left.' Also notice that they had a sort of staring contest after that...I wouldn't put it past them using Legilimency/Occlumency to transfer further unspoken information.
Also notice that DD doesn't tell an outright lie. He never says Harry didn't free Black, he just makes it appear impossible. (Most likely because Fudge was present)

still manipulating to make Snape look an idiot... Fudge even said he seemed quite unbalanced or somethin to that effect...
and slappin his hand so to speak is mean... I mean... really.. when DD says somethin and Snape is quiet after.. its cuz he trusts him fine.. but still.. it all makes Snape come off looking bad... and it makes DD look like he is more powerful.. rather then a respect thing.. power freak he is... grrrr... :::grumbles to self...making my sweetie look bad.. what does DD think he is?::::
(lol sounding a bit like kreature now! LMAO!)

I think when DD doesn't tell people stuff it is for there own good, like Harry, he was acting really like a father to him trying to protect him from the inevitable, its not DD's fault that he tries to help and sometimes ends up messing up, after all he is still human. sometimes he is a little to over protective, but other than that he does and says stuff for the best.
