***warning spoilers, although anyone on this site SHOULD have read it ;D ***
I am rereading HBP and I am on the part where ron just got poisoned when he and harry were with slughorn. They are at the hospital wing when hagrid shows up, well hermione and harry leave with hagrid and they start talking about if the governors close the school down because of everything.
US version Page:405-406 chapter Elf Tails.
" Yer expect accidents, don't yeh, with hundreds of underage wizards all locked up tergether, but attempted murder, tha's diff'rent.'S'no wonder Dumbledore's angry with Sn---"
then Harry badgers him why DD is angry with Snape.
then hagrid says "Well --- I jus' heard Snape sayin' Dumbledore took too much fer granted an' maybe he --- Snape --- didn' wan' ter do it anymore ---" "Do What?" " I dunno, Harry, it sounded like Snape was feelin' a bit overworked, tha's all --- anyway, Dumbledore told him flat out he'd (turn page) agreed ter do it an' that was all there was to it. Pretty firm with him."
By DD saying Snape agreed to do "IT" , it could have meant to murder him...
so what on my theory? I think it is pretty good! still only a theory though...

Makes sense. J.K. had Snape set up to look like an evil character before. Do you think Snape possibly made and Unbreakable vow with DD in order insure he would kill him? A bit off topic, but... I think J.K. is an aboslute genious in the way she sets up her characters. The book is definitely narrated from Harry's point of view and no one else's and the readers become so involved with Harry's point of view that they often share his emotions toward certain characters. Now, Harry HATES Snape and we see in all the books that he's always trying to peg Snape down as evil. More often than not, Harry overlooks the details that prove him wrong and since we are meant to feel with Harry I think most readers overlook the same details and hints. What I'm really trying to say is that J.K. is brilliant in the way that she gets her readers to jump to conclusions. ... Does that make any sense?

a lot of sense!! I actually hated snape till I saw AR as him...then everything went blurry LOL, but now I can actually see where harry just doesn't like him ,and he isn't really a bad guy... I was so excited when I found that piece of info.. JK never said he Was evil either, I think she might have, like when she said DD is dead.

Me too, except fanfiction also played a hand in making me like Snape. I think she wants her readers to look deeper for clues, so she sets Snape up to look evil. (She did it in the first book obviously.)

I agree!! a lot of people just want to believe what harry thinks, and in book 6 she really tried to turn everything around, even harry's friends didn't believe him even though he was right. she just wants people to think for themselves!
