i know, right? i will be so psyched if i get into the early group.
although i would have thought i would have seen more hype leading up to it as it got nearer... come to think of it, i haven't even gotten an email, which i thought was the whole point of registering my email address, yeah? i hope they're not having technical issues or something!

That's what I thought, too, but who knows. Are any of you going to stay up until midnight, to see what happens? ETA: There are seven chances to get in early. Each day until the 6th, there's a question pertaining to one of the books and you have to find the answer. (says it all on the site). The first one was posted at 4am est (yeah, I'm a hardcore dork, haha-went to bed for a couple hours then woke up at 3...). I should be in-just have to wait for a welcome email! Going to bed soon.

I got the first clue and I'm registered, but it doesn't give you immediate access. They're only letting small amounts of people in at a time so those who registered may have to wait a couple of weeks until they get another e-mail. Also, you don't get to create your own username, you have to pick from 4 or 5 premade ones.

I guess I should have done all of this as well, but it just seems like too much effort so I can't be bothered LOL!

For once my time zone actually benefited me. Everyone on the east coast stayed up until 3am and I got in at midnight.

Yeah, they're now releasing the clues at random times to give all the time zones a fair chance.

Ooh, that's annoying... Meanwhile, I thought I might as well try to do this as well, but the times are so crap - it's always so bloody late here, and I have to get up insanely early for work So I don't think I'll bother anymore Meanwhile, have you guys seen this site? www.cheatswhiz.com/pottermore/I guess you don't need to worry about it now since you're both signed up

Also, you don't get to create your own username, you have to pick from 4 or 5 premade ones. hey, what names did everyone end up choosing, anyway? i went with nifflersky. ETA: i'm leaving the numbers off because i've heard about assholes trying to hack into accounts.

no, i'm guessing that i probably won't be for a few more weeks. i didn't get in until day 4 because i kept thinking i wasn't getting the clue answer in on time until i realized it was a browser issue.
yeah, i heard that they're starting with the first book and adding the rest gradually. what do you think of it all so far?

I'm impatiently waiting for my email. How is the sorting quiz? I'm really hoping I get sorted in Gryffindor but have the quizzes I take put me in Hufflepuff.

The chapter by chapter guide is really cool. You find out a lot of information about McGonagall before she was a teacher and the Dursleys before Harry was born. Also there's some cool stuff about Ollivander and wand materials. There are other little tidbits too, but those are the major ones.
The potion brewing is HARD. At least for me. It may just be my crappy mouse, but I have trouble picking up ingredients and putting them in the cauldron. (And you only get about a minute and a half to do everything.)
Dueling is tricky, but not impossible. You have to hit a series of keys in succession and get the timing right.
The sorting quiz has some really arbitrary questions so it's fairly hard to tell which answers will get you into a certain house (Some are more obvious than others). I went with answers that I felt would get Slytherin, (I.E. Heads or Tails? I picked tails.) but it was still a shot in the dark. Luckily, I did get into Slytherin.
Some people are theorizing that the sorting is fixed so that each house has an equal or almost equal amount of members. Personally, I won't believe it until I see a significant change in the house numbers. As it is right now: Ravenclaw = 1570 Hufflepuff = 1273 Slytherin = 1257 Gryffindor = 1234

Do you get a unique wand, by the way? Yup. Wands have four characteristics: wood type, core, length, and flexibility. There are about 16 different wand types and 3 core types. Length ranges from 10 to 16 inches and flexibility is anything from "rigid" to "bendy". Here's mine: Pear with dragon heartstring, 12 1/2 inches, surprisingly swishy I sent you a friend request. ;D
