So, what's everyone here doing on the HBP evening?
Me, I'm going with a gang of my friends and we're all wearing house colours. Next year I'll actually be taking my (by then completed) Snape costume for a whirl.
I figured wearing it to Deathly Hallows would be much more fun, cause people who haven't read the books will hate me even more...

I saw it last night with some friends. I dressed up as a witch trying to look like a muggle. In the books it seems like they don't know how to dress, so I wore a whole bunch of wacky clothes, I was the only one in the theater wearing crazy clothes. Everybody was staring at me.

It was pretty good, but as always there were a few bits (actually more than a few) that they completely cut out, but overall it was a good Harry Potter movie.

I wanted to see Snape have his hissy fit damn it That bit was really anti-climactic for me. To be honest I didn't enjoy this film as much as I hoped I would.

It would have been so awesome to see Rickman act that out Hmm... I think I found that it dragged on a lot, and I was waiting for all the action to happen (Harry and Dumbledore's "quest", the attack at the end, that sort of thing.) Also, WTF was up with the Tonks/Lupin thing? For some reason they're already a couple without all that "What's wrong with Tonks, she's all sad, etc..." crap to lead into it? Eeeh

Especially since he'd just killed Dumbledore As if he'd just say "I am the halfblood prince" in that calm sort of voice, jeez Stupid film-maker peeps! The romantic moments were funny in some ways, but yeah, I thought they could have cut back on that a bit as well to include more action

Exactly! My b/f hasn't read the books and he was confused as all hell about that. Definitely could have used more action Particularly at the end. They should have kept all of that stuff intact. I can't remember the book too well but wasn't there more of a "face-off" between the aurors and Death Eaters? I didn't like the "new" Tom Riddle either CREEPY... That's why I've got the Chamber of Secrets version in my banner now, hehehe.

So very true Yeah, and Ginny and some of the other DA members were involved in the battle too. That would have been cool to see. Yeah, exactly! Sod all that other crap - the battle would have been so much better to see. Well that's true, they did look a lot alike... but I liked Christian damnit

i wonder if he didn't want to come back or if they just picked someone else to look like the kid... anyone know?

I think he did want to come back, from things I've heard around the place, but they thought he was "too old" for the part. But I mean... c'mon What are theatrical make-up and special effects for? Then again maybe they did just want someone who resembled the kid more closely, I don't know the full story so I'm just speculating.

Such is true He does look younger than he is. And besides - how old is Rickman? And he's playing a man who's meant to be in his 30s?

Not at all Although maybe Snape's just been through so much crap, he looks like he's aged more than he should have Yeah I read about that somewhere else! And I always think of the movies as merely being loosely based on the books anyway, considering all the crap they change and throw in for the hell of it (eg. what happened to the stuff with the Prime Minister?) so... ooh well
